About this Course

This Special Program is designed for students who need practice and refinement of advanced grammatical, written, and oral skills in order to prepare to matriculate into a post-secondary institution. Module A3 is one of six rotating levels. The modules are thematically based and focus on research, advanced levels of grammatical structures, academic writing, and formal oral presentations.

Students will be able to:

• Utilize dependent clauses

(adjective, noun, and adverb) in complex sentences

• Construct sentences using gerunds

and infinitives correctly

• Determine appropriate context for

utilizing active and passive voice

• Compose sentences using accurate

modals in reference to various situations

• Demonstrate correct verb tense

choice and construction using all English tenses

• Produce sentences using true and

untrue conditionals

• Complete academic research on

assigned or selected topics

• Identify the differences between

essay/narrative writing styles

• Produce an extended piece of narrative

writing.

• Develop a strategic or action plan

to complete the course requirements

• Develop and deliver a Power Point or Prezi on a thematic
